Keeping warm and layering extends down to your feet as well. I was looking for wool hiking socks when I came across 'Extreme Alpaca Socks' on a camping website, gofastandlight.com. The animal's wool is denser than Llama wool, but each strand of hair is hollow, and that helps to reduce moisture. My feet sweat a great deal when hiking, and these socks do a great job keeping my feet warm and dry.
